Ulinzi Stars football club and Kenyan at large are mourning a fallen soldier .
Mr Kevin Ouma who until his deployment to Somali where the Kenyan soldiers were fighting the militia group Alshabab was the Ulinzi stars right full back.
He was confirmed dead after DNA samples were verified by Doctors. He was part of the soldiers mandated by the Kenyan government to do duty in the war torn Alde region Somali.
Ouma was until 2014 a regular starter at right back for the team. A torn meniscus at the end of a grueling season meant he would be out for some part of last season after surgery. He made a comeback and started training, eying a return to competitive action
According to relatives the soldier ‘s number couldn’t get through for a while and when the DNA results were sampled ,he was one of the casualties confirmed in where more than 100 soldiers died protecting the country.
Ouma returned back to the Kenyan premier league in 2014 after missing the better part of 2013 due to injuries.
He played an integral role in Ulinzi’s 2015 run where they finished second to Gor Mahia. He however left for military assignment as the norm for Ulinzi’s players where National duty supersedes club duty.
We at Soka25east.com join his family and friends at large in paying tribute to our departed soldier.R.I.P Oush
