Three Azam Uganda Premier league fixtures were played on Friday, 22nd April 2016.There were away victories for Bright Stars and Express over Sports Club Victoria University and Maroons respectively.
Anthony Bongole, Bruhan Matovu and Joshua Kawadwa scored at Namboole for the visitors against Victoria University in a 3-0 triumph.Bright Stars still played without their head coach and Uganda Cranes goalkeeping tactician, Fred Kajoba who is recovering from ill health.
Express condemned Maroons to their 16th loss of the season with a 2-1 victory.Ibrahim Kayiwa gave the Red Eagles as early lead in the 5th minute.Moments later, Patrick Kaddu who is enjoying the form of his life replied for the Prisons’ run side.
Kaddu converted a penalty following Richard Kizito’s handball in the forbidden area.Vincent Walugembe Kayizzi took the matters in his own hands to restore parity for the visitors, two minutes after the game restart.
The victory drives Express to the third place on 43 points, same as Vipers although the former have a one goal advantage.In the battle of the forces, Peter ‘Crouch’ Ssenyonjo scored for Police in the 1-0 slim victory against Simba at Kavumba recreational stadium.
KCCA still leads the 16 teams in the league with 51 points.The next league matches shall be played on Tuesday, 26th April 2016.
