South Sudan senior national soccer team commenced their preparation for the forthcoming 2018 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier on Tuesday morning with a light session at the Juba National Stadium.

The team of local based players reported to camp for residential training on Monday night but without players from outside Juba who are however expected to link up with the rest later.

During training, the players met the new Sudan Football Federation President Francis Amin and his Vice President Benensio Amum.

The two officials later addressed members of the fourth estate where they requested all sports lovers and the general public to stand behind the national team.

South Sudan will host Uganda on July 14th at Juba Stadium for the first leg of the qualifier.

The return leg of the match will be played at Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo,Kampala on Saturday July 22nd starting from 4pm East Africa Time.
