British Double Diamond brand Umbro has announced their next kit deal with an African football national team as they signed a deal with the Ethiopian Football Federation. Umbro replaces Italian brand Errea.

Umbro becomes the exclusive global technical partner of the Ethiopian national team Walia Ibex for the next four years.

Umbro this year already signed jersey deals with Botswana and Zimbabwe. They are also equipping Egypt giants Al-Ahly SC.

The Ethiopian national team has a long football tradition being one of the only three teams along (Egypt and Sudan) to have participated in the inaugural Africa Cup of Nations in 1957 as they were later crowned champions in 1962.This rich history coupled with Umbro’s 94 years in the game brings together two brands steeped in tradition which makes for a perfect partnership.
