BUILDCON WILL WRESTLE ZESCO UNITED FOR THE NDOLA SUPREMACY
Zambia Soccer League top flight debutants Buildcon is on a mission to challenge Zesco United for the City of Ndola Supremacy.
Before moving of Buildcon FC from Southern Province to the Copperbelt precisely Ndola, there seemed to be only one team in Ndola that would compete for the titles and other honors on the country’s football scene.
Forest Rangers with their Super League status have for a long time failed to compete with Zesco United to bragging rights of Ndola.
ZESCO United who within a short period of time have managed to be one of the great teams in this country in a rush to catch up with other teams that have been in existence for a long time.
But the coming of Buildcon may just open up a new derby that people will be looking forward to.
This derby finally took place in the first week of July and some people that watched the game believe this will be a big one in near future.
Cliff: Without a doubt and I think it’s now a bigger game than Zesco Vs Forest Rangers. The football displayed was excellent and a draw was a fair result. ”
Nchimunya: “Bwezani, Buildcon was better side especially in the second half and even when I was not in support of this team abandoning my town in Choma, let’s be honest, they are a very organised team and they are doing fine.”
Chilufya: “Its good for football and Ndola will be lit once more and some of us will remember the old days of Ndola United and the fact is all in all its very good for Ndola .”
But not everyone thinks like this as others still think the ZESCO United Vs Forest has some better accolades
Cephas: “Zesco vs Forest derby is quality with neat passes compared to Buildcon which is too much physic and I still think Zesco vs forest is more interesting and that of buildcon is boring. I don’t know about others, but for me we enjoy more the Forest Rangers one than the Buildcon one.” added Cephas.
Buildcon has landed and with time it wont be an easy team to play against as it has already shown in the first part of the 2017 season.
After 15 games, Buildcon lie 12th on the table having won 4 games, drawn 7 and lost 4 games.
Buildcon though will have to improve their scoring rate with only 9 goals scored in 15 games but don’t doubt their defence, it has been one of the best in then league after conceding 10 goals. Only three teams in Napsa, Zesco and Zanaco have let in lesser goals than Buildcon.
Buildcon have arrived and Zesco United be aware , Ndola is no longer a one supremacy team in the friendly city of Ndola.
