The new 2016/17 season of Burundi’s Primus league is set for Saturday, September 10 kick off with a Super Cup clash between Vital’O and Messenger Ngozi.

This will give way for league fixtures a day later starting Sunday 11.

The clash at Prince Louis Stadium, Rwagasore will be a renewal of rivalry between reigning league champions Vital’O and President Cup winners Messenger Ngozi. The two met in the final of the President Cup with Coach Moncilo Medik Moma outwitting his counterpart Hans Michael to emerge winners last season.

Vital’O have been getting ready for a season without their dependable striker Laudit Mavugo who joined Simba SC of Tanzania – they have managed to strengthen by signing among others, Bigirimana Floribert from Ajax Cape Town South Africa.

The team played a friendly on Thursday 18 against Saint Basil High School beating them 4-0.They play another warm up versus Muzinga FC on Wednesday.
