After playing hide and seek as regards their arrival date for Sunday’s CAF Champions League tie against Enyimba,Vital’O FC of Burundi finally landed in the Nigeria on Thursday evening with a 28-man delegation .
Vital O who are the East African representatives landed at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu enroute Port-Harcourt for the first round, first leg encounter with Nigerian champions, Enyimba.
Last Tuesday,the chairman of Enyimba Felix Anyansi raised the alarm that officials of Vital’O had failed to communicate the date they wanted to arrive for the continental game.
Anyansi explained that the Burundian champion would have to be driven to Port Harcourt venue of the game hence the need for prior information to enable the host team play their statutory role as mandated by CAF.
The team which landed Enugu aboard an Ethiopian Airways flight ET931 at about 13.00hrs departed the coal city at 14:35 hrs by road to Port Harcourt.
In the preliminary round,Vital’O overcame Lesotho side on away goals rule after earning an away fixture with a 2-1 score line only to lose the home tie, 0-1.
The game comes on Sunday at the Adokiye Amasiemeka stadium,Port Harcourt while the second leg holds after two weeks in Bujumbura,
