The Soka25east writer based in Zambia Bwezani Mbewe has been awarded for the contribution he has done as individual in promoting Zambian Football. This took place at the Soccer Fans Supporters tournament held at Sunset Stadium the home of ZANACO Football Club.
The Award which is called RECOGNITION AWARD FOR INDIVIDUAL EFFORT TO PROMOTE ZAMBIAN FOOTBALL was handed by the ZAMTEL SPONSORS and Renowned Soccer analyst Reuben Kamanga. Awarding the award, Reuben Kamanga congratulated Bwezani who urged to keep up with the courage and spirit of promoting the Zambian game.
The tournament which attracted 12 community teams from within Lusaka was won by Katondo Stars a team from Lusaka town centre that beat the referees in the final on penalty shoot-out. The Referees team which had players like Rodrick Chisani and Jan Sikazwe were one of the best teams of the one day tournament that attracted various sponsors who joined hands with ZAMTEL to bring football in appreciating the fans for their contribution towards Zambian Football.

Reacting after receiving the accolade, the Zambian soccer analyst said
“I really did not expect the award but to be picked among several people that document and write about Zambian football is awesome. I first would like to dedicate the award to my late sister Phellunah Chisompola who always told me that the talents I have were amazing and good things would come. She told me to never look down on small things, so this means a lot for me.
Secondly my son Rodewell Mbewe Jr a Mufulira Wanderers fan who always makes sure he asks several questions about football.
Last but not the least to the members of Bwezani and Zambian football WhatsApp group who have now become serious family members. We can do more.
