Azam FC yesterday beat Swaziland side Mbabane Swallows 1-0 in a tough CAF Confederations match played at the Azam Sports Complex in Chamazi.
The lone goal was scored by Ramadhan Singano also nicknamed Messi .
The match which was played under floodlights saw the visitors dominate most part of the match
Banele Sikhonde and Nsabulo Ndlovu were a constant threat to the Azam defence lead by Bruce Kangwa and Shomari Kapombe
After a goalless first half dominated by the visitors, Azam coach Aristica Cioba made changes in the second half that provide some punch upfront but the stubborn Swallows defence was solid thwarting efforts by both Singano and Salum Abubakar
Cioba made his first change in the 54th minute bringing on Shabani Iddi for Joesph Mahundi before Agrrey Moris got injured a minute later to be replaced by Ghanaian Daniel Amoah
Shabani Idd began making inroads to the tight Swallows defense and in the 63rd minute he made a fine run on the left crossing to Yahaya Mohamed whose resultant shot went straight to the hands of keeper Thulani Tsabedze
In the 71st minute the visitors came close to scoring when Sabelo Ndliinisa just alone with the keeper to beat had his shot blocked by Aishi Manula.
Azam made another substitution bringing on Khamis Mcha for exhausted Yahya Mohammed
