SupeSport United and Horoya of Guinea played out a largely disappointing 0-0 draw in a CAF Confederations group match played on Saturday afternoon in Conakry.

The first half was an open attacking affair where both sides had chance to get on the score-sheet, SuperSport through Kakena and Mnyemane and Horoya through the lively Yakhouba Mendo.

Nkatha had a great shot on goal on 20 minutes which was comfortably saved by Horoya goalie while Daniels too had a pop from distance seven minutes later which keeper was equal to.

Mendo looked a threat all afternoon and his run and interchange of passing with Ibrahima Sankhon nearly created a goal for the home side but his shot was wayward on 32 minutes.

The second half too was full of attacking intent from the home side who looked the more threatening. Mendo bea SuperSport full-back Kekana on the flanks but his shot was over the bar on 47 minutes. Four minutes later, Morton combined with Phala but his shot too was over the bar.

Supersport’s opportunities came through Letsholanyane on 56 minutes but his shot was not strong and was easily gathered by Horoya keeper, with Bhasera an Brokie also having shots on goal that were to no avail.

Furman had a late opportunity but he shot over the bar with time running out while Sankhon’s effort was blocked with two minutes to go as the game ended goalless.

SuperSport: SuperSport: Williams, Kekana, Daniels, Gould, Modiba (Bhasera 88′), Furman, Letsholonyane, Morton, Phala, Mnyamane, Nkhatha (Brockie 63′).
