Ulinzi Stars FC defender Omar Mbongi has confirmed no pressure in his club as they prepare to face Smouha FC of Egypt in an CAF Confederations Cup first leg encounter on Friday 10 February 2016 in Alexandria,Egypt.
Ulinzi who sailed in the first round after eleiminating another North African side Al-Hila Benghazi will have to hold their opponents to avoid a repeat of history of losing on Egyptian soil at critical times just like it happened in their last away game.
In this regard Mbongi has noted that going into the match with a lot of pressure might distract their focus and asserted that his fellow players are in good form.
“We have prepared well for them and the team is ready. No, I dont feel we are under pressure, we are relaxed and ready to do our job on the pitch. All that matters are positive results, and it will be really important to ensure we get something from this match,” said Mbongi in an interview with Goal Kenya.
“Once we put ourselves under pressure, it means we will be nervous on the pitch and we will commit mistakes.”
A win or a draw for the soldiers will give them a higher chance of proggressing to the group stages of the competition as they will have an easy game during the return leg fixture in Nairobi.
