Bernard Ovoke opened score for Rivers United in the 2nd minute with Fredrick Obamate extending the lead in the 15th minute.

Geoffrey Sserunkuma scored for KCCA on the stroke of halftime after a defensive blunder by Rivers.

The first 45 minutes was a half dominated by Rivers, at least in terms of possession, as they saw 60 percent of the ball, something they took full advantage for their dominance.

Two minutes after the start in a soggy pitch,Rivers got off to a bright start when Beranrd Oveke scored from corner kick to make it 1-0 for the home side.

The goal disorganized KCCA style of play and fifteen minutes later, they had to pay for that after Fredrick Obamate scored past Kisembo got the starting role today for the Kasasiro boys between the post.

Despite being on the lead and withh all the possesion the Rivers were wasteful in the final third of the field.

In fact, KCCA began coming into the match and they utilised their first real chance on goal when Sserunkuma made it 2-1in the 45th from a wonderful strike.

The second 45 saw Rivers continue where they left off as KCCA looked to be chasing shadows as the start of the half.

In the 52nd minute brilliant Kisembo was subsitited after he got an injury and was replace by ‘reserve’goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan.

In the 64th minute,Ovoke broke through the KCCA defence on a charging run, but the keeper was quickly off his goalline to smother the Rivers attacker and grab the ball.

15 minutes later and Muzamir Mutyaba worked his way into the left-hand side of the 18-yard box with some sublime skill, but he saw his powerful 16-yard shot superbly saved by Akande as he palmed it over the crossbar.

Kasasiro boys tried to find their way back into the match as Rivers defended their lead, with Derrick Nsibambi missing an equalizer in 86th minute.

The match, though, did end on a rather sour note as Habib Kavuma was shown his second yellow card.
