Green Eagles coach Aggrey Chiyangi says his team will not be intimidated by the occasion when they meet Orlando Pirates for this afternoon’s CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg match to be played at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka with a Kick-off at 15:00.
Chiyangi says the players are ready to do battle with the Buccaneers.
Speaking at a prematch conference in Lusaka, Chiyangi said, ““We are not intimidated. Zero percent intimidated. The reason is very simple, we have played so many games especially that we have played well in the Zambian league and have played in the CAF Confederation Cup and also had a chance to play in the CECAFA, so intimidation for us is now out of sight.”
“In football everything comes step-by-step. The only good thing is that when you talk about Green Eagles, I think the group has been climbing, it has not been going down which is good for the team,” Chiyangi said.
“So, even if we play Pirates, we are in a learning phase, but again, when in a learning phase, it does not mean we cannot get a positive result because football is played on the pitch.
“So we are taking it very positively. So, if they make mistakes and we get a chance, we will score but we have to be very careful.”
The return leg of the tie will be on August 23 and whoever advance to the next stage they are likely to face the winners between Angolan side Primeiro de Agosto and KMKM from Zanzibar in the preliminary stage
