Ngaya Club president Ali Mohamed is assured that his team is in the right spirits going into the CAF Champions League preliminary round return match against Yanga on Saturday 18 February at the National Stadium,Dar es Salaam.
Ngaya will be taking on a side that thrashed them 5-1 in a first leg match played in Moroni and Mohamed believes that the club’s desire to feature in next round will drive the players to go for a win in the clash.
“We’ll go to the second leg. We took the defeat, it was hard to swallow but it is football and then nothing is finished yet. We hope to qualify or, at least, a win. All this is still possible,”said the club president,Mr.Ali Mohamed alias Eddy in an interview with Comoros daily Al-watwan.
Eddy also confirmed that the club does not have financial means to make the trip to Dar and is seeking for goverment support to foot the bills.
“We lack the necessary financial means. We are hoping, among other things, for support from the government to be able to attend our match in Tanzania, whose budget is estimated at 16 million, “he said.
“We booked the hotel in Dar-Es-Salaam. But we can not communicate the hotel name today. The team is in good shape and knows their obligation on the pitch.”
The president also indicated that the Lucien Syllla Mchangama side has one player injured going into the game.
“Our young defender Salim Ali will not be on the starting line-up but he will be there among the travelling party as we monitor his thigh injury “,the club president concluded.
