Denis Onyango is a major doubt for Mamelodi Sundowns’ Champions League first round against KCCA FC through injury latest reports from South Africa suggest.

The Ugandan international is still recovering from an injury, and indications are that Sundowns are likely not to take risk of fielding their first choice goalie for the ecounter that will be played at Lucas Moripe Stadium tonight.

The goalkeeper is receiving treatment for the groin injury he picked up before 2017 Africa Cup of Nations earlier in January.

“Chances are that the gloves will once more go to Wayne Sandilands, as Mosimane will not lightly risk the return from injury of Onyango,” said Pitso Masandawana,the Sundowns coach.

Sundowns have the KCCA hurdle to cross as they start journey of defending the CAF Champions League inside the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
