St Mary’s Stadium- home of Ugandan side Vipers SC has been cleared to host matches in the CAF Confederations Cup this year.
The venoms are billed to host South African side Platinum Stars in the first leg tie on March 11.
The continent governing body, CAF gave the Ugandan champions the greenlight to host matches in Kitende through a communication sent to FUFA by the CAF Club Licensing Manager in the Competitions department,Ahmed Harraz.
“Kindly be informed that CAF has approved the St Mary’s Stadium and you can now select as a venue for your matches,”reads part of the statement.
The clearance comes after CAF inspector Nicholas Musonye was sent to Uganda on Tuesday to come up with a final report which was based on before the CAF Club Licensing Committee came up with the approval.
