HISTORY IN THE MAKING IN CHOMA WITH GREEN EAGLES

Green Eagles makes history this coming Tuesday as they play CAF Confederation football for the first time . What is more interesting is that they will not have to move away from Choma Independence Stadium after the stadium was approved by the CAF inspectors to host CAF games.

Green Eagles play Young Buffaloes of Swaziland a team based in Mbabane and has actually participated in the CAF Champions League before with one appearance that dates back to 2011 and were knocked out in the first round.

The winner of this tie will play the winner between Na Hussein Dey of Algeria and Diables Noirs of Congo Brazzaville.

There is sense of belief in Choma and residents feel they can bag this one and qualify to the first round of this competition.

The belief also is with the players who belief it’s time to put Green Eagles on the map and one of the key players in Spencer Sautu believes Choma is a fortress and the team will do well.

“Bwezani , not at Independence Stadium and the boys knows what is at stake. We are also aware what goals conceded mean in this competition, we are ready for the tie. ” said a soft spoken Sautu.

On the lighter note, the neutrals will travel to see the celebratory moves of the defender Mateo Ndashe who is without a doubt a darling of the crowds after games.
