Zambian’s Janny Sikazwe has been given the nod by CAF to take charge of the 2019 Afcon qualifier between the Harambee Stars of Kenya and Black Stars of Ghana.

The 39-year-old professional teacher will be assisted on the lines by compatriots – Oliver Gift Mweene and Kabwe Chansa.

Sikazwe refereed the Group G game between  Belgium vs Panama at the Fisht Olympic Stadium on June 18 in Russia.

That match saw him enter the record books as he became the first Zambian referee to officiate a game at the FIFA World Cup finals.

Sikazwe was selected as one of the referees for the Afcon 2015 – He officiated the 2016 FIFA Club World Club final in Japan as well as the 2017 Afcon finals in Gabon.

The match will be played at the Moi International Sports Centre (MISC) in Nairobi on September 8 at – 1300 GMT.

Ghana head Group F with 3 points followed by Sierra Leone also with 3 points – Kenya occupy the 3rd spot whereas Ethiopia lie bottom with no point after Match Day one.
