CAF President Ahmad has reaffirmed his support and that of the organization for the development initiatives to be taken by the new Tanzania Football Federation office.
Ahmed today met a delegation from the TFF including the newly elected President Wallace Karai who paid him a courtesy call at the CAF’s headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
Also in attendance was the federation’s General Secretary Leodegar Tenga, who is also a member of the CAF’s Executive Committee.
“CAF president reaffirmed his support for the development of football in this country where the passion for this sport is singular,” CAF’s statement reads partly.
Karai, a former TFF vice president, was elected president in August this year to succeed his former boss Jamal Malinzi, who remains remanded for alleged embezzlement of the federation’s funds.
Malinzi was barred from presenting his nomination papers for the election and did not defend his seat after just one term in office.
Karai pledged to develop the sport from the grassroots.
