The Confederation of African Football has unveiling the roadmap to it’s elective General with Elections set for March 2021.
At its meeting on Thursday, 10 September 2020 via video-conference, the CAF Executive Committee made it known of the roadmap for the elections.
The CAF Ordinary General Assembly 2020 is scheduled on 11 December 2020 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. However, and due to the health crisis and safety restrictions, Tanzania will be a backup option. Should the situation not improve, the Ordinary General Assembly is to be held by videoconference.
The CAF Elective General Assembly 2021 is to be held on 12 March 2021 in Rabat, Morocco.
The timeline relating to the electoral process to the Presidency and to the CAF Executive Committee has therefore been revealed.
The Opening of the reception of candidatures is on
11 September 2020 with the closing date being 12 November, 2020.
On 11 January 2021, CAF will officially communicate of the names of the candidates to all the national associations.
12 March 2021 is the date that has been set for the Elective General Assembly
Incumbent Ahmad Ahmad is bidding to run for another term but he faces many formidable opponents who want to rival him for the Presidency.
