CAFCC: Asante Kotoko announces 18-man squad for Sudan trip

Head Coach Charles Kwablan Akunnor has named an 18-man squad for their 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup Group opener vs Al Hilal of Sudan. Soka25east.com can confirm

The list of players include Two (2) Goalkeepers, Five (5) Defenders, Seven (7) Midfielders and Four (4) Forwards.

Defender, Augustine Sefa, who missed the second-leg tie vs Coton Sports at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi through suspension returns to the squad while Abass Mohammed is out through injury.

The team will depart Accra for Omdurman on Thursday, January 31, 2019.

The match is scheduled for Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the Hilal Stadium at 7:00Pm (Sudan Time) and 5:00 (Ghana Time)

The Porcupine Warriors are in Group C alongside Al Hilal, Zambian duo of Nkana FC and Zesco United.

Asante Kotoko made it to the Group Stage of the CAF’s second-tier inter-club competition for the first time since 2008 after beating Cameroon’s Coton Sport 5-3 aggregate.

Here is how Kotoko 18-man squad look like:

Goalkeepers: Felix Annan, Muntari Tagoe

Defenders: Amos Frimpong, Wahab Adams, Ismail Ganiu, Agyemang Badu, Augustine Sefah

Midfielders: Abdul Fatawu, Richard Senanu, Prince Acquah, Kwame Bonsu, Umar Bashiru, Stephen Owusu and Emmanuel Owusu

Forwards: Obed Owusu, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Maxwell Baakoh, Sogne Yacouba
