Rwanda’s sole representative to the continental club competition Rayon Sports, have qualified for the CAF confederation cup playoff stage following Mali suspension from all football related activities by FIFA.
CAF Secretary General Hicham El Amrani confirmed the development on Friday, March 17 in a letter addressed to FERWAFA.
“We have been informed by FIFA of the suspension of MalianFootball Federation from all sporting
activities.Consequently, the Malian clubs are not allowed to participate in CAF Interclub competitions scheduled this weekend.The aforementioned matches are hereby cancelled and the clubs of El Masry (Egypt) and Rayon Sport (Rwanda) are automatically qualified to the following round,”
Rayon Sport who had gone down by a solitary goal to Malian side AS Onze Créateurs de Niaréla in the first leg encounter in Mali’s capital Bamako, were schedule to face Ryan Sport in the return fixture this Saturday at the Amahoro National Stadium in Kigali Rwanda.
