TP Mazembe sailed through to the CAF Confederations Cup semi-final on 7-1 aggregate score after obliterating Al Hila El-Obied 5-0 at Stade Mazembe Sunday.

Mazembe who are the defending champions hit the Sudanese outfit 2-1 in the first leg last week in El Obied and confirmed their dominance with a five-star performance in Kamalondo yesterday.

Jean Kasusula broke Hilal’s spirited resistance in the 39th minute – hitting home a sumptuous free-kick past the goalkeeper Alkram Salim for a 1-0 lead.

Adama Traore doubled the scores in the 49th – connecting in Chico Ushindi’s right cross before DR Congo international Ben Malango made it 3-0 from a corner kick.

Meschak Elia put his name on the score sheet with six minutes left on the clock with Djos Issama driving the last nail on Hilal’s coffin with the fifth and the final inside the three added minutes.

Mazembe will face FUS Rabat in the semis this coming weekend with the first leg being played in Rabat, Morocco.
