TP Mazembe traveled to Pretoria, South Africa Thursday for the CAF Confederations Cup finals return match against Supersport United Saturday at Lucas Moripe Stadium confident of defending the title.
Mazembe are carrying a slim 2-1 first leg win in Lubumbashi last Sunday and coach Pamphile Mihayo is positive of finishing the business away from home for a second gong on the trot.
“We won the first round so nothing is lost for us. We will fight till the end.
“I urge Mazembe supporters and Congolese at large to continue to hope,” the youthful manager said.
A win or any draw will favor the Ravens while a 1-0 win for the hosts will see them bag the second rate CAF club championships on away goal’s rule for a first ever continental glory.
Mihayo anticipates an intense first 15 minutes of the match as the “Matsantsantsa” will be out gun blazing for an early goal.
“Supersport will try to score first but on our part we will deploy a tactic to control the situation and make sure they don’t score in the first 15 minutes. We hope to bring the cup home.”
To rally a huge support behind them, Supersport will allow free entry to all fans wearing the club’s blue jersey in a campaign dubbed “Fill Up Lucas Moripe Stadium.”
Supersport’s last meeting with Mazembe in Pretoria, at the groups phase, ended in a barren draw this year.
