C.D. Primeiro de Agosto and TP Mazembe drew 1-1 in the CAF Champions League Group A match at the Estádio 11 de Novembro on Friday evening.
As a result, DR Congo’s Mazembe are sitting at the top of the group table, while Angolan outfit Agosto are placed on the third place.
The visitors got off to the perfect start as they broke the deadlock just eight minutes into the encounter after Agosto’s defence was exposed.
Rainford Kalaba was the man, who beat Adilson Cipriano Da Cruz with a header in the Agosto goal-posts to make it 1-0 to Mazembe.
However, the lead only lasted for four minutes as the hosts hit the back of the net through Mabululu after the Ravens’ defence was caught ball watching.
Mabululu, whose full name is Agostinho Cristóvão Paciência, netted his second goal in the group stage to make it 1-1.
The score was 1-1 at the interval following a lively first-half in the capital city of Angola, Luanda.
A relatively quiet second-half followed as the two teams created goalscoring opportunities which they failed to convert.
Ultimately, the match ended in a 1-1 stalemate with Agosto and Mazembe sharing the spoils on the night.
