Cameroon Coach [Song] Promises to Make Amends

Cameroon coach Rigobert Song has vowed to male amends in his next game after his side lost to Switzerland 0-1 at the Al Janoub stadium.

Song further alluded to the fact that despite his lads playing good football in the first half they failed to convert chances which came back to hurt them as they fell to the Swiss. “I know it’s difficult losing a game we had dominated in the first half but you have to know we have young players who are still discovering the World Cup and they missed the sharpness needed upfront. Out of the twenty six players I called up, only three have an experience of  playing at the World Cup. This is not to say we lacked the capacity to win but they needed a more offensive mentality.” Song said at the Post match press conference.

Song also defended his almost simultaneous changes made in the second half saying, “We needed to inject into the game more urgency to give our opponents pressure but despite that they held on to their solitary goal. As a coach I feel disappointed with the loss but we still have two more matches to play. You can remember in the 90’s Argentina lost their first game but went on to win the World cup.” he added.
