Algeria and Cameroon played to a 1-1 draw in their Group B 2018 World Cup qualifier at the Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in Blida on Sunday evening.
The home side got off to the perfect start with El Arbi Soudani finding the back of the net for the Algerians seven minutes into the game, 1-0.
Cameroon, though, were not to be outdone and hit back in the 24th minute courtesy of a strike from Bejamin Moukandjo, 1-1.
Both sides played an exciting brand of football for the remainder of the opening half, but neither could find the back of the net due to some poor finishing in front of goal.
Unfortunately, the second half was not as lively as the first with both teams offering very little in attack as they struggled to breakdown the others defence.
Consequently, there were few decent scoring chances and the two countries had to settle for a share of the spoils.
The point sees both teams tied in second place in Group B after one round of fixtures.
The other Group B game saw Nigeria beat Zambia 2-1 away from home earlier on Sunday which sees the Super Eagles topping the standings.
Algeria are in action again in Group B on November 7 away to Nigeria while Cameroon will host Zambia on the same date.
