Africa champions Cameroon played to a 1-1 draw with Australia in their FIFA Confederations Cup clash played on Thursday night.
Zambo Anguisa put Cameroon ahead in the last minute of first half after sloting in past Matt Ryan with his first time effort.
Vincent Aboubakar’s shot that caught the strong breeze that blew across Christian Basogog went in over the head of Australia keeprr Ryan.
Australia dominated possession in the first half. In the second 45 minutes the Cameroon showed greater urgency had the better of the attacking play.
Cameroon, comfortable on the ball, organised and classy, edged a less coordinated Ausralia in the first half and deserved a 1-0 lead by the break.
They had a clear chance early on, in just the fifth minute, as Tim Cahill played Tom Juricthrough on the right of the area, whose shot forced a save off the legs of Ondoa.
In a slow-paced first half it took until the 32nd minute until dangerous Abubakar found space on the right and produced a low cross that Benjamin Maukandjo skied high and wide stretching for a connection at the far post.
Then Indomitable Lions broke the deadlock on the stroke of halftime,as Adre Zombo laid a long ball from Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui who slotted in a volley into back of the net.
The Soceroos came out more cohesive from the change rooms, and looking more forceful in attack.
It took just 15minutes for Australia to equalise with a goal from Mark Milligan who steepes up to convert a penalty after a Cameroonian defender had brought Alex Gersbach down.
The Cameroonians were unable to break down Australia further until, in the 84th minute, Basogog played Aboubakar through the middle, but the out-of-form striker skied his shot harmlessly high over Ryan’s crossbar.
Indomitable tried to muscle their way through a strong, excellently-arranged Australia defence in the final minutes of the game, but without success.
