Cameroonian international defender Ambroise Oyongo could leave Montreal Impact, according to Canadian Press.
The 26 year old has revealed that a number of “major European clubs” are intrested in his signature and is keen to take up a new challenge.
“I have better offers elsewhere. I don’t want to stay one more year at Impact. It is regretable but that’s football” Oyongo explains.
Oyongo arrived in Montreal from New York Red Bulls at the start of the 2015 season.
He would go on to set personal best 60 season appearances for the Impact, and was instrumental in their run to the Eastern Conference Championship in 2016, which they ultimately lost in a thrilling series against Toronto FC.
Oyongo, who helped Cameroon to victory in the 2017 African Cup of Nations, has been heavily linked with a move to French Ligue 1 side Monaco.
