MY VIEW IN THE CAF CONFEDERATION CUP
Green Eagles Vs Na Hussein Dey
Nkoloma Stadium
15:00hrs
National Service Sponsored and one of Zambia’s flag bearer in the continent marathon, Green Eagles will be involved in a twist of fate for a place in the next stage against not so fancied Algeria outfit, Na Hussein Dey.
Na Hussein Dey is participating in the CAF Confederation Cup for a third time. Proir to their elimination in the preliminary rounds in 2006, they are a club not so experienced in the African Safari thrice during the time the same tournament was called Cup Winners Cup.
Diables Noirs were the victims of the North African side in the preliminary round , after being held to a 1all draw in Brazzaville, Congo and losing to two unanswered goals in Algeria.
On the other side, the Zambian representatives humbled Swaziland now Eswatini outfit via 5-2 home and away aggregate.
This encounter in terms of physical conditioning appears to favour the Algerians, considering they are almost at the mid time of their league. Having played 15 games, drawing 5 times and losing 4 and winning the rest. On the other hand Eagles are in the seasonal hiatus. Having closed the calendar in November.
Eagles could build confidence on the fact that their opponents do allow in goals, but then they score goals as well.
For Green Eagles, everything happening is new I don’t think Aggrey Chiyangi will be disappointed even without a win. He has already exceeded expectations and he will go into this game knowing that he has set a high bench mark which will be hard to break for Green eagles going forward.
I think Green Eagles will get something from this game but I don’t know if it will be enough getting into the second leg.
My Prediction : Green Eagles 1-1 Na Hussein Dey
