Nkana vs ZESCO United
Nkana Stadium
15:00hrs
Nkana will again give Ronald Kampamba every chance to play in Sunday’s only game. Kampamba, who is the main man in the absence of Walter can still do something spectacular in this encounter. With Zesco United boasting a 100% record so far this season but Nkana having that home ground incentive the two sides will offer some more excitement in the Super League of old
Considering that last season’s fixture at this stadium was a Zesco win ,’ Nkana 3-2 win at Levy Mwanawasa was arguably the most significant in as many games, Sunday’s first meeting in the Super League’s top rival teams has plenty to live up to. The home team are finding it difficult to score, while United are scoring at ease , but as the old cliche often reminds us, form goes out of the window on these occasions.
So expect fireworks.
As it stands, Zesco United lead the Super League with 9 points from 3 games, 4 more than Nkana – hence no matter what happens on Sunday Zesco United will remain above Nkana.
At this stage last season it was Nkana on top as Zesco had games in hand– Nkana have struggled getting four points from the possible 12 so far and its a bad start while Zesco don’t look like losing.
The only 0-0 draws in this encounter in the last 16 games played against each other in the super league were two in 2010 and one in 2015 otherwise we have had goals and we are expecting goals in this one. Overall the stats state 10 wins for Zesco , 5 draws and 1 win for Nkana and that came last season via a 3-2 win in Ndola.
The only gray part of this encounter is teams will remember the reason why Walter is not on the field of play!!
Its tough one for the home team but am seeing a serious rise in the United corner and they may just sneak this one with a slightest margins, the fact is that Nkana are struggling to get goals which is not a problem with United. But should the first half end without any goal then this could be the fourth 0-0 encounter in 15 Super league games.
My Verdict: Nkana 0-0 Zesco
