Cape Town City are on the verge of completing a deal for Ugandan international Allan Kateregga, according to reports.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been available on a free transfer after the end of his contract with Uganda giants KCCA FC.
Kateregga was also targeted by Tanzanian giants Yanga and Simba, but reports in Uganda have claimed the dreadlocked midfielder is enthusiastic about the idea of working under Benni McCarthy.
The dribbling fast paced left footed player had previously played for Kenyan Premier League side AFC Leopards before Ingwe decided to loan him after he fell out with coach Robert Matano.
Kateregga started his playing career with now defunct Sports Club Victoria University where he featured prominently before making the switch to Kenya with Tusker FC and later Ushuru FC.
Now, it remains to be seen when City will announce the player’s signature, should all go well with Kateregga’s medical.
