Cape Town City recorded an important 0-1 away victory over Chippa United in the ABSA Premiership on Friday.
An early strike from Kermit Erasmus handed Cape Town City maximum points at Orlando Stadium.
The Chili Boys who were using Orlando Stadium as their temporal home, were pegged back by the goal with the defense caught out early.
Bafana striker Kermit Erasmus proved the difference between the two sides, who went into the fixture looking to escape the bottom half of the table.
Fagrie Lakay sent in a delicious ball into box in the 17th minute, finding Erasmus who was left unmarked and headed into the back of the net to give City an early lead.
That was Erasmus’ 10th goal of the campaign as he dedicated the goal to his father who was watching from home.
There was not much goal mouth action during the remainder of the encounter as City held on to the single goal for a well-deserved victory.
