Cape Verde have shot to the top of the African continent in the latest FIFA / Coca-Cola World Rankings released today 3 March 2016.
The Islanders who have had a decent run in form over a couple of months in International frendlies, the Africa Cup of Nations and FIFA World Cup qualifiers jumped 2 places and are now also ranked 31 in the world, one place behind the United States of America.
The Cote d’Ivoire drop eight places in the rankings which sees them slump to number 37 in the world and second on the African continent. Algeria dropped one place and now are in third on the African Continent and also on 36 in the world.
Ghana remain in fourth position on the continent and also maintain the 41st position in the world.
The best movers in Africa are Ethiopia who move 4 places up placing them 120 in the world and 35 in Africa while the worst was Sao Tome who dropped 15 places placing them at 174 in the world and 50 in Africa.
Uganda and South Africa moved up 3 places and are in position 13 and 14 respectively. Kenya dropped four places and are on 27 in Africa and 103 in the World.
Teams that round up the top ten African teams are Tunisia in fifth, Senegal in sixth, Egypt in seventh, Congo DR in eighth, Congo in ninth and Cameroon in tenth.
