Colombian striker Leonardo Castro has signed a two year contract extension with PSL side Kaizer Chiefs.
Amakhosi announced on their website that they have reached an agreement with the player to extend their relationship with a further two years, ending on 30 June 2022.
Castro joined Chiefs from Mamelodi Sundowns in January 2018 an was more than happy to remain at the club.
“Thank you so much. I am very happy with the Chairman Kaizer Motaung and Club. I am also grateful to continue to wear the Gold & Black,” he told the club’s official website.
“This is sensitive for me because I have not won a trophy yet with the team. And to leave without a gold medal would be a defeat for me.”
Castro has scored 20 times for Chiefs in all competitions since his arrival at the club. Eight of the goals have come this season as Amakhosi launched a serious attempt to lift the Absa Premiership.
“I wish to win something. And I think with the squad we have at the moment; we are capable of doing well. My family is excited about this development. We are happy to remain in South Africa. Thank you once more to the Chairman and the Club,” he concludes.
