Zanzibar humbled Uganda with a 2-1 win to book a place in the final at the on-going 2017 CECAFA Cup in Kenya.
Abdul Makame put Zanzibar ahead in the 25th minute in a half that was dominated by the Islanders. Derrick Nsimbabi grabbed a leveler at half an hour mark before Isaac Juma slotted in a penalty to take the score to 2-1.
Zanzibar started the game slowly and nearly went behind on the 17th minutes, Vipers striker Milton Karisa firing over the bar a thunderbolt from inside the box.
But Makame replied for Zanzibar who have conceded just two goal in the tournament. After nine minutes Said Ibrahim crossed for Makame to knock the ball home.
Cranes made four changes to the side at half time, but it was Zanzibar who found a winner at half an hour mark from a penalty when Nsubunga committed a foul in the area.
Centre referee Twagirumukiza did not hesitate to show Nsubuga a red card,reducing Cranes into ten-men.
Isa Juma calmly slotted the ball in the back of the netted the ball past Watenga to send the defending champions packing.
Cranes best chance in the second half came from Allan Kyambadde provided the cross this time but Allan Katerregga turned the ball meters from the goal mouth.
