Kenya’s Harambee Stars skipper who also plies his trade for Southampton in the English Premier League has send Kenyan side Gor Mahia best regards ahead of their do or die Cecafa Kagame Cup final against Azam of Tanzania today at the National Stadium in Dar Es Salaam.
Speaking to Soka25east.com from his base in England Wanyama alluded to the fact that he was proud of Gor Mahia for raising the Kenyan flag high in the annual regional tournament terming their road to the final as fantastic .
“I am really proud of Gor Mahia they have been exceptional this season and capping it with the Cecafa Kagame Cup trophy will be a big boast to football in Kenya.I want to take this moment to wish them all the best as they embark on the final in Dar Es Salaam and i pray that all goes well because it will be a joy for them to lift the trophy that will be celebrated by every Kenyan”

Gor Mahia last won the Cecafa Club Championship in 1985 and its been a long 30 years of waiting as they expect to end the jinx when they clash with equally good opponents Azam of Tanzania who have established themselves as one of the best and organised clubs in East Africa.
