By Bonface Osano,
The group “A” decider between Al Khartoum and Gor Mahia settled for a 1-1 draw at the National Stadium on Friday 24th July, meaning the quest for who runs away with the group will be decided by the last matches.
The Sudan side which enjoys a superior goal difference still tops the group with seven points same as second placed Gor Mahia.
Ousmaila Baba capitalized on a poor goalkeeping by Gor’s Boniface Oluoch who could not hold on to an earlier shot, to drill home a low left foot shot for the opener in the 7th minute; the Kenyan representatives fought tooth and nail for the equalizer and were rewarded in the 41st minute with midfielder Eric Ochieng’ effortlessly heading in Khalid Aucho’s lovely chip into the box.
The second half saw both sides playing cautiously, with very few scoring chances being created. The last matches of this group will played on Sunday with Al Khartoum playing against Yanga SC and Gor taking on Djibouti Telecom.
