Kampala City Council Authority football club were in a ruthless mood thrashing Al Ahly Shendi of Sudan 3-0 in the 3rd quarter final of the tournament to book their spot in the semis.
Joseph Ochaya solo effort in the in the 15th minute broke the deadlock, when he released a left foot low shot that Al Shendi keeper Faoaz Gadam reacted late to. KCCA largely dominated play, creating numerous scoring chances most of which went painfully begging. The match proceeded to the breather with the Ugandan side enjoying the slim lead.
The Mayor’s boys continued pressing forward for more goals in the second half, pinning their opponents in their own half, and in the 74th minute, Al Shendi keeper Faoaz Gadam brought down goal bound Tom Misiko in the box, with Mutyaba Muzamiru stepping forward to burry the spot kick.
Captain Tom Misiko turned the scorer less than two minutes after the penalty, to cooly slot the ball past the advancing Al Shendi keeper for the third and final of the match.
KCCA will meet the winner between Yanga SC and Azam FC in the semi final on Friday 31/07/2015.
