By Lorraine Ruto,
It might be the polls cast, suggesting Gor Mahia as the possible winners of the Cecafa Kagame cup 2015 winners or the incredible number of K’ogalo fans thronging the Tanzanian national stadium in Dar es Salaam giving the players their unwavering support. Some attribute this clean run confidence to the 12 point lead in the Kenyan premier league.
Kenyan side Gor Mahia is receiving overwhelming support from all ends; the Football Kenya Federation offers a 250,000 reward if they bring home the Cecafa Kagame Cup. The country’s president Uhuru Kenyatta has tweeted his congratulatory message to the Kenyan team on reaching the final, while the former Kenyan prime minister; an avid K’Ogalo fan ,Raila Odinga is set to arrive in Tanzania to watch the finals.
The Tanzanian heavy weights Azam is well supported by their fans as well, attending all the matches in huge numbers. This marks a second appearance, having played against their arch rivals Yanga in 2012 losing 2-0. Gor Mahia is making their marked second appearance since 1985 defeating their equally bitter rivals FC Leopards 2-0 in Khartoum, Sudan. This would be their first meeting, each team having great chances, Azam, unlike Gor have not conceded a goal and drew on only one match.
Gor Mahia;offensive, rigorous and foreboding, Azam; defensive, guarded, strong. It has been said any fool with fast hands can take a tiger by the balls but the heroes remain squeezing.Gor Mahia players are ready for the big day and a 2-1 victory against Azam is my bet.
