The draw for the 2015 CECAFA Senior Challenge was released today (Monday 9). The regional tournament will be staged in Addis Ababa Ethiopia from November 21st to December 3rd.
South Sudan the newest member of FIFA and CECAFA will be playing against Sudan for the first time in their history in this year’s edition.
The Bright Stars have been drawn into a tough group with Sudan, Rwanda and Zanzibar. After participating in the 2012 & 2013 tournaments and failing to register a point, the national team is now at the strongest point in their history and are expected to achieve some positive results against their East African rivals.
They beat Equitorial Guinea 1-0 in the AFCON 2017 qualifiers on September 5,2015 to record their first international win courtesy of Atuak Lual goal to announce their arrival on the big boys’ stage.
