A determined Uganda cranes side shocked Burundi with a Frank Kalanda goal in the last Group B match in the ongoing CECAFA senior challenge cup in Ethiopia.
The win mathematically saved Kenya from fighting for the last 8 slot via third best finishing instead qualifying automatically as runners up.
Uganda with six points tops the group and will meet Malawi in the first quarterfinal on monday 30th December.
Kenya will meet the top team in Group A while Burundi will wait for the conclusion of the group matches to see whether they can progresd as one of the two third best finishers.
