Zambia U-20 coach, Beston Chambes is counting on his team’s experience from the Adidas Invitation tournament in Korea Republic ahead of the 2017 U-20 FIFA World Cup.
The four-team tourney was played in Korea Republic–the Country billed to host the 2017 FIFA World Cup, and the Junior Chipolopolo were invited as guests.
At the tourney, the U-20 AFCON Champions clinched silver, after beating Ecuador 2-1 and Honduras 4-1; loosing only to Korea Republic 4-1.
Chambeshi told a Ghanaian Radio station Empire FM, on a phone interview that, Zambia acquired experience by playing against teams such as Honduras and Ecuador. Hence, they know what to expect at the World Cup.
“We played in a four-team invitation tournament in Korea Republic. We played Honduras, we played also Ecuador and I know they play the way Costa Rica play”
“We have learnt one or two things from that tournament. We are prepared so well and ready to make another name in Korea” said Chambeshi.
At the FIFA U-20 World Cup, Zambia were drawn in Group C alongside Portugal, Iran and Costa Rica.
