West Africans dominated the last four places of the ongoing Nations Championships in Rwanda after registering victories in the quarterfinal matches.
Soka25east sampled some of the best pictures of the victors with only the Democratic Republic of Congo the only team outside West Africa to make the cut.
Congo DR beat hosts Amavubi of Rwanda 2-1 in extra time to set a clash with the Syli Nationale of Guinea who shocked Zambia 5-4 in the penalty shootouts.
Perharps the most shocking news of the quarter finals was the elimination of pre tournament and tournament favourites Tunisia who paraded the likes of Entente Setif Ahmed Akaichi and Mohammed Amor.
Akaichi although left the tournament shoulder high with 4 goals to his tag.
Guinea eliminated Katongo lead Zambia after a hard fought 0-0 in both normal and regulation time.Zambia’s goal however was disallowed amid protests.
Cameroon’s fine run in the tournament which included a 3-1 drubbing of Congo was tested to a humiliating 3-0 defeat the hands of the Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire.

However the most painful of it all was the elimination of the host nation Rwanda,The Amavubi may have surpus the expectations of many but they thought they should have reached the final more so after registering a 1-0 win over Ivory Coast.
