CHAN 2016 – Niger to play Morocco in a friendly tie in Kenya.

CHAN 2016 – Niger to play Morocco in a friendly tie in Kenya.

Reports in Morocco according to GazzettaGhana.com suggest that Niger Football Association has requested their Moroccan counterparts for a friendly encounter to be staged in Nairobi, Kenya as part of preparations towards the 2016 CHAN tournament to be hosted in Rwanda in January.

Morocco had intended to play Ethiopia’s “Walia Ibex” in Addis but the whole idea was shelved owing to Ethiopia’s unfavorable altitude to the Atlas Lions’ preparations.

The North Africans are in group “A” together with host Rwanda, Gabon and Ivory Coast while Niger is in group “C” which comprises; Tunisia, Nigeria and Guinea, hence making the build up tie a possibility. Exact date for the friendly match is yet to be decided.
