Cranes coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic on Thursday 18th named his final squad of 18 players to face neighbors Tanzania in the first rounds of Championships of African Nations,CHAN.
The match will be played on Saturday 20th in Zanzibar at the Amman Stadium and the team departed Kampala this afternoon via Ethiopia aboard Ethiopia Airways.
The Ugandan side will be captained by defender Hassan Wasswa, who will be deputized by striker Robert Ssentongo. Ssentongo and Wassawa were part of the team that beat Botswana 2-0 last week at the Namboole Stadium in the AFCON 2017 qualifier match, and “Micho” will be banking on the experience gained as the Serbian tactician seeks another impressive result in less than two weeks.
Others who were in the victorious team and are in the squad to face Tanzania includes; Yassar Mugerwa and Shafik Bakaki.
CHAN is played by players in local leagues only.
