Congo’s coach, Barthélémy Ngatsono has predicted a tough match against Libya when they meet tonight in Agadir
Congo face Libya in the quarter-final of the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) this Sunday in what the coach says he expects Libyans to come out with the guns blazing.
“Libya is a very good team. Moreover, I consider that it is one of the favorites for the final coronation. We have nothing to lose. We want to qualify in the semifinals and we will give ourselves thoroughly. Our strong point is the defensive sector.
“As you all know, we have not yet conceded goals and it is thanks to the players’ mindset and strategy that we are advocating. We play in block and the players have adapted well to this strategy.
“We promise to make a good match, to honor our country and try to get a qualification in the square of ace, which will be a historic qualification for us.
Also speaking at the pre-match conference, Red Devils captain Barel Mouko, said he is keen to see his side progress further in the Chan as they look to forward for semis slot.
“It will not be easy for us. Libya has a very good goalkeeper namely Mohamed Nashnush, who is also the captain. During this tournament, there are many good goalkeepers who are captains at the same time. We feel good and we are well prepared to tackle this quarterfinal. We only have one goal, qualification. ”
However, on their side Libya have remained optimistic of registering a win as they are not under any pressure.
In his comment, Omar El Maryami, who has so far experienced a good run in the tournament, said that the team was working hard to win the match.
“The match against Congo is crucial for us. At this stage of the competition, we are no longer entitled to the error. We supervised this Congolese team and we detected some flaws, ”the coach said.
“ We will take this into consideration during the match. I asked the players to play without pressure, to practice our game and especially to avoid precipitation. We must also avoid cashing. We will try to be suspicious because our opponent advocates counterattacks
