Sudan coach Logarusic Zdarvko claims his side can match Morocco’s quality and they stand a good chance of beating the Atlas Lions in the last Group A clash of Africa Nations Championship (Chan).
The East Africans fought their way to a vital 1-0 win over Mauritania on Wednesday night while hosts Morocco beat Guinea 3-1 their second straight victory in the competition.
Logarusic was quoted by Cafonline yesterday as saying that he has a side that can shock the host in a match which he must win and score highly to finish at the top of the group.
“My target is the next game against the host Morocco here in this beautiful city of Casablanca. We’re very prepared and we don’t have any pressure playing Morocco who are one of the best organized teams in Africa, because we have qualified already.
“The team is fully focused on tomorrow’s game, and the protest from Guinea hasn’t affected us because we knew there was no error.
“I cannot say much about the quarter finals whether we will face Zambia or Namibia; what we want is to win against Morocco.
Sudan captain Mohamed Taher on his side expressed happiness for his team qualification and added that the have switched sights in today game.
“We have a team that came here to do well. We have booked a quarter final place and tomorrow is about who tops the group. We definitely want to stay in Casablanca so we have to win against a formidable Morocco team.”
