Tanzania and Rwanda have played to a 1-1 draw in their second round, Central-East Zone qualifier for the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) on Saturday.

The match at the CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza ended all square after 90 minutes, leaving the tie very much in the balance ahead of the return leg at Stade Regionale Nyamirambo in Kigali next weekend.

The Wasps claimed the lead – and a potentially vital away goal – in the 20th minute when Dominique Nshuti found the back of the net.

However, a few minutes before the break, the Taifa Stars hit back to level the game at 1-1 through Himid Mao.

The aggregate winner of the tie will face either South Sudan or Uganda in the final phase of qualifiers
