Chelsea Manager José Mourinho is reportedly willing to splash 20 million pounds to get Southampton’s Kenyan captain Victor Wanyama to the bridge.
Mourinho is reported saying he wants to improve his midfield after a poor start in the season so far and according to the daily star.co.uk . Wanyama would be the perfect fit.Wanyama is desperate to leave St Marys as his contract expires at the end of next season.
Earlier on Wanyama was keen to join his former boss at White Hart lane describing him as his mentor but the deal hit a snag after Southampton refused an £18 million together with Eric Lamely(loan).
Other options in Maurine’s lists are Reuben Neves of Porto and Marco Grujic of Red Star Belgrade.
Juventus highly rated midfielder Paul Pogba is also on the lists but competition from Barcelona puts the Kenyan international on the top list.
Wanyama was signed from Celtic for a record Scottish fee of £12.5 in 2013 and has a two year contract left at Southampton but is reportedly ready to run down his contract into it’s final year.
Southampton may be forced to accept the offer come January with his value dwindling.
